NB Social Justice Studio is an Irish social justice consultancy co-founded by Dr. Michael Barron and Jaime Nanci — activists, authors, and facilitators with decades of frontline experience in LGBTQ+ rights, anti-racism, and community organising. Their work spans training, research, publishing, and consultancy for NGOs, universities, public bodies, and corporate clients across Ireland and internationally.
Their reputation was built through lived experience and real-world impact. Their digital presence, however, didn’t reflect that authority. They needed a website that could hold the weight of their story, communicate their full range of services clearly, and grow with them as their body of work continued to expand.
The challenge
- No scalable content system: publications, case studies, and articles were distinct content types requiring a flexible, structured backend to manage them properly
- No visual identity: strong values and a clear voice, but no cohesive visual language to anchor them in a digital environment
- Content-heavy operation: a growing library of books, reports, articles, and event recaps that needed to be simple to add, edit, and find
Strategy & execution
A purposefully restrained visual system — clean layouts, strong typography, and a warm editorial aesthetic that puts content and people front and centre. No noise. Just impact. Paired with a technical architecture that gives the NB team full publishing independence.
Built a custom brand identity
Developed a refined visual language — colour palette, typography, and layout system — that balances professional authority with human warmth.
Created bespoke content types
Built dedicated WordPress custom post types for Publications, Case Studies, and Blog Articles — each with tailored fields, templates, and archive pages for clean, consistent presentation.
Designed reusable loop templates
Each content type has its own Elementor loop template, so newly published content automatically inherits the correct layout — no design decisions required.
Streamlined the editorial experience
Structured the admin panel so the NB team can publish a new article, report, or case study in minutes — with zero code and zero design overhead.
